Demand-Responsive Ride
Shared journeys that group people going the same way at the same time - like staff commutes or patients with overlapping appointments (chemo, dialysis, etc). Smarter, cheaper, fewer empty seats.
Shuttle
A scheduled shuttle service that updates 5 minutes before each trip - only stopping where someone’s booked a seat. Ideal for moving staff between sites. A better alternative to buses that run empty half the time.
Self-Drive
Staff can book and drive vehicles for clinic visits or home care. Cuts grey fleet costs, helps staff without cars, and lets departments share vehicles while tracking who’s using what.
Courier

Real modular use cases from the NHS
Demand-Responsive Ride & Courier Modules
At Newcastle Hospitals, Flock’s demand responsive ride module is used to transport renal patients to and from dialysis. Between those scheduled runs, the same vehicles handle courier deliveries for the home ventilation team - moving breathing equipment between the Trust and patient homes.

The community nursing team use Flock’s self-drive module to book pool vehicles for home visits and on weekends we spotted spare capacity in the schedule where the same vehicles could be re-purposed to assist with excess renal patient transport requirements. In addition, the hospital was able to secure help from volunteer drivers at little to no extra cost.

Scheduled Patients
Flock groups patients into shared journeys, matching routes and times automatically.
Pick-up and drop-off times are tracked live, with any delays flagged. Clinic arrival and departure times are logged too, so you know if patients are getting to appointments on time.
If Flock vehicles aren’t available, the system can allocate a volunteer driver or book a taxi.

Where do you operate?
Flock works with NHS Trusts, ICBs, Boards, Patient Transport operators, Ambulance Trusts, and Community Transport providers across the UK. We’re active in both urban and rural areas and support multi-site operations
Are you a software company or transport operator?
Flock meet you where you are. We offer Software-as-a-service only, full turn key solution or a mix of both.
Do you only work with Electric vehicles?
Flock work with Internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles. We are able to integrate with legacy fleets and help with the transition to electric vehicles. Ask us about our range optimisation tool which ensures each vehicle has sufficient charge for upcoming requirements throughout the day.
Do you work with NHS directly or NHS suppliers?
We work with both. Certain NHS Trusts work with us directly but we are also partnering with patent transport providers to improve their existing systems
